We do this in order to minimize the emails and workload on the Haitian staff so that the officials can focus their time on appointments and getting paperwork done so that children can be home as quickly as possible. Feel free to have an open and honest relationship with your liaison worker through Answered Prayers. It is their job to make you the parent feel comfortable and at ease with how the adoption is progressing and alleviate any concerns you may have at any time. Please note however that Answered Prayers in no way controls the speed of the adoptions. We will try our best to encourage and keep you informed of process but there is no way for us to speed things up. We work with the Haitian facilitator and the Haitian Attorney because we trust that they will work hard in getting things done as quickly as possible. We have complete confidence in their judgement and abilities. We will pass along any information we receive as soon as it comes. Updates will be in the form of pictures and measurments etc.as often as possible. We hope that this will help mommies and daddies during the waiting process.

Answered Prayers is not an adoption agency, or an adoption facilitator. We are a licensed dossier preparation service and humanitarian aid organization. We will however be working with potential and current Brebis adoptive parents to serve as the liaison between Brebis and North America. Communication with Haiti is difficult at best, so we will walk parents through the dossier preparation procedure, answer questions, and encouraging you throughout the international adoption process, as well as provide parents with regular updates.

Adoption fees through BRESMA effective March 2007 are as follows:

- $5000(USD) Program Fee payable to Brebis Saint-Michel de L'attalaye for Haitian facilitator and country fees due at the time dossier arrives in Haiti. (this cost covers lawyer and facilitator fees, paperwork, filing,passports etc)

- $3000(USD) Orphanage Donation payable to Answered Prayers sent to the Washington address due at the time of referral. (this cost covers childcare, staff wages including teacher, nurse, driver, security, medical needs, food, formula, diapers and general day-to-day maintenance of the orphanage)

- $4000(USD) Orphanage Donation -- this fee is for children under one year of age, or for those children living in private foster care, this fee is in lue of the $3000(USD) orphanage donation.

Each adoptive family working with us will be assigned a liaison worker upon initial contact.

ALL contact between Haiti and the Adoptive Parent(s) WILL be facilitated through YOUR liaison Worker.

Haitian Adoption Guidelines:

-- One adoptive parent must be at least 25 years of age.

-- Min. three years marriage + ability to demonstrate living together for at least two before, or five years marriage.(Single women)

-- No more than 3 biological children.

Haitian adoptions are currently taking 9-18 months from arrival of dossier.
