Donations
Monetary donations are the greatest need right now. We can get money into haiti with fellow workers going down but it is hard to get supplies in with the port down and airplanes only taking top priority items. We will eventually be taking supply donations such as clothing, household goods, etc but for now we have nowhere to store it or means to get it into haiti.
You can donate by sending a check made out to Answered Prayers and mail to:
677 Pend Oreille Loop
Colville, WA 99114
or click on the donate button on the web site and donate via paypal. Paypal does take a service fee of like 3-4%.
100% of all relief donations are going to -
1. immediate needs of food and water
2. helping to secure safe housing for the children
3. medical needs
4. longer term needs of housing as we receive more children because of the earthquake
Adoptions
All adoptions from Haiti have been put on hold. This is done to protect the children and to help ensure no human trafficing is taking place in a time of such tragedy. This is also in place to protect families. As haiti has the attention of the world, now is not the time to make the decision to adopt. Adoption is a lifetime decision and must be made with educating yourself as much as possible.
Answered Prayers is NOT an adoption agency and does not do adoptions. We work closely with:

Once adoptions are opened back up, feel free to contact her. Right now the agency isn't entertaining new adoptions for Haiti.
Volunteering
We appreciate all of the requests to volunteer. Please watch our web site for the next trip that we will open to groups. Right now the logistics are not in place to be able to take workers. We don't have housing, food, water, etc. We don't want to go and use their resources so until things settle down and we can be self sufficient, groups will not be going. Volunteers are vital to our ministry so please keep checking back.
Our Next Step -
That is a great question. AP continues to pray for guidance. We are working with the director and owner in haiti, the adoption agency and some other people to decide - What is next and how do we accomplish? Over the years there have been many ideas of things that we hae talked about implementing and perhaps this is our chance to be able and make that a reality. As we have concrete plans and a way to accomplish them, we will post.
We know for now we will help provide and care for the children in the orphanage and help with needs of the many more that are bound to be dropped off.
A board member will be traveling to check out the damage to our houses and see if we will be able to repair them or if we have to secure other houses or land to build on. He will also be meeting with the director and discussing plans to move forward and what that will look like.
